San Francisco resident Peter O'Sullivan is a category lead for Facebook, working in the global accounts and categories section. His duties include achieving quarterly revenue targets as well as hiring, training, and motivating his team of global client partners and global solutions managers. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Peter O'Sullivan serves on the board of the San Francisco chapter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
With over 600 facilities worldwide, nonprofit RMHC seeks to help those who need housing while their child receives medical treatment. In addition to private and corporate donors, RMHC also has over half a million volunteers. One of the main programs it offers is the Ronald McDonald House program, which provides housing and support for families traveling for pediatric medical care. While individual charters run a little different to best suit their needs, RMHC ensures that every accepted family can stay there, regardless of their ability to pay, although some do choose to donate a nominal daily sum.
As well as providing housing close to hospitals, the program often also includes access to other resources such as recreational activities, sibling support services, and accredited educational programs. Aimed at creating a holistic support system for the entire family, the program also provides meals and play times for children.
